Making a Difference for Children & Families

Active Parental Involvement

Childcare First nurseries are committed to promoting active parental involvement. Our nursery parents committees are influential in contributing their ideas and influencing practice such as organising fundraising events, participating in parenting workshops and making complimentary contributions to the everyday running of the nursery.

Involving Children in Learning
Hillview and Rainbow nurseries promote an ethos where everyone is learning together. Children are actively involved in planning and evaluating their journey through learning. We embrace the core capacities of Curriculum for Excellence by supporting children in becoming Confident Individuals & Successful Learners who can Effectively Contribute their ideas as Responsible Citizens across the curriculum. Younger babies and toddlers are supported in a respectful, responsive environment that values relationships in the family unit. All children are nurtured in their learning and development at nursery.

Health and Well Being
The nurseries have superb outdoor facilities. Health and wellbeing is paramount within the service we provide for Renfrewshire’s children and families. We feel that exploring the local and wider environment is an important part of children’s development. Learning experiences help provide opportunities for children to take part in play activities, recreation and sport. All of which contribute to healthy growth and development, both at home and in the community.

Menu Planning is very important in achieving a well-balanced and healthy diet for our children. We encourage parents and older children to contribute suggestions when preparing our seasonal menus.

Our lunch & snack menus take into consideration guidance on Fun First Foods for our babies 0-1 years and Nutritional guidelines for older children 1-5 years. To view our healthy menus click on the links below:
